Re: Last Update with new kernal failed to boot

When booting it displays the error at /tmp with no live disk so I'm under the impression that it's the /tmp in the HHD.

I'm in the process of looking at the logs in recovery mode.

I'm thinking it might be related to apparmor.

Re: Last Update with new kernal failed to boot

I forgot to mention that the same error happens and it's unable to boot on the previous kernel.

I have about 10 old kernels listed but only tried the last one 5.6

I remember removing the old kernels through apt auto-remove but at boot there are about 10 listed, what is this?

Thanks

Last Update with new kernal failed to boot

Hello, I just updated to that new kernel 5.7 and about 50 other updates yesterday, upon reboot today it failed. I'm doing this from a live CD I loaded the kernels recovery mode and looked at the logs and here are the ones in RED that I think are the problem. The very first error: "Xsession: warning:...

Re: Network HP LaserJet Printer stopped working (SolydXEE testing)

Well the bug report says you need to update the foomatic driver - did that work? After looking in the bug report it said that it was found in version cups-filters/1.27.1-1 and fixed in version 1.27.1-2, 1.27.2 and the foomatic driver stayed the same as this was verified in my laptop as well. Since ...

Re: Network HP LaserJet Printer stopped working (SolydXEE testing)

it sounds like a configuration issue for me, or an hardware issue. IIRC laser printer needs to be cleaned regularly to get a good print result Except before this bad cup-filter file using foo2zjs has always had a clean print out , just this time is the only time I've uses hplip and I noticed it was...

What about the propietary driver? is hplip still working?
It's not working for me.

Correction, hplip does work, but the print outs are blurry or fuzzy and not clean.

Re: Network HP LaserJet Printer stopped working (SolydXEE)

Thank you, Yes I know that it can and will break, I spent about an hour troubleshooting and the only option I can come up with is that it's a file that was part of an update which is outside of my control and that's the reason for this post as a last resort to inform you guys. Yes, the printer is pi...

Network HP LaserJet Printer stopped working (SolydXEE testing, solved)

I have a HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Foomatic/foo2zjs-z3 (ZjStream-based printer) on my local wired network with cat-5 cables through a router. The driver is foo2zjs (20171202dfsg0-4) It was working the last time I used the printer but I think there was an update and now it's not working. system-config...

Re: I just lost my network connection with the latest updates (SolydXEE)

I had the same problem, and found the solution in the link grizzlelr supplied. https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2020/02/msg00403.html . Specifically in the the last response. So I removed ufw. Then I purged iptables following this https://serverfault.com/questions/200635/best-way-to-clear-all-i...
