Re: LO 4.0.1 Bugs

[...Unfortunately, the only versions of 4.0.x (besides 4.0.3 in Sid) in the Debian repositories were in Debian experimental, and those have been removed now that 4.0.3 is in Sid. Experimental previously had 4.0.2 (I don't know about 4.0.2.2), but now it doesn't have any version of libreoffice. Than...

Re: LO 4.0.1 Bugs

Debian Sid (same thing as unstable) has version 4.0.3. The version in the SolydXK repositories originally comes from Debian Experimental (those versions did not require libc6>=2.15). ... Still, I think we'd rather not use third party packages. Thank you very much for the answer, "cwwgateway" ;) Yes...

Re: Breakages and News - SolydX-tracking Debian SID

LO 4.0.3 is in unstable: http://packages.qa.debian.org/libr/libreoffice.html . Eventually it will migrate to Testing and then SolydXK naturally. With all the other changes in unstable, it could take some time to migrate. One big problem with including it is it depends on libc6 >=2.15 (we have 2.13)...

Re: Breakages and News - SolydX-tracking Debian SID

Can you confirm that 4.0.3 doesn't have these (or new) bugs? Upgrading is not an easy task, so I need to be sure. Lo 4.0.2.2 doesn't have this bug, apparently (not in my presentations, at least). I'm upgrading it to 4.0.3.3 in PCLinuxOS (another machine) and will inform you right now... it's OK too...

I was talking here about the same netbook from another post, that's why I mentioned a remaining problem.
Sorry for that.

LO 4.0.1 Bugs

Guys, talking about Libreoffice: version 4.0.1 has bugs. It opens the animations in Impress in a different order than meant to be (with files both created in 4.0.2 and 3.6.5. Can you upgrade the one in SolydXK for the latest 4.0.3? (otherwise we must downgrade to the solid 3.6.5.2 one :-( ). THANKS!...

Re: SolydX does not support Mobile Broadband

Confirmed: I installed NetworkManager, and removed wicd. Logged out, logged back in, and everything works just fine. :?: When installing NetworkManager, does in install all the other packages the system requires? I'm having problems trying to connect a (VIVO) 3G USB stick to get internet, too. Some...

I am enjoying SolydX on the netbook. Fast, elegant... "solyd".
Congratulations to the tram. Live long!

I've removed it from the other thread. I was thinking that different people follows different ones; and I needed the machine at work this morning, so... nevermind. Issue corrected.

Re: Localized SolydK - cannot login

...Just use updatemanager to install the Update Pack: it'll do all the configuring for you. Did it (previously, I uninstalled a couple of packages I wasn't going to use). Everything fine, as far as I can see. I have to test video and sound play, afterwards. Wireless works :) Now, I'm installing the...

Re: Localized SolydK - cannot login

Thanks. By the way, I was experimenting with other "bigger" DEs because of this: Since I use this netbook to teach, I connect it to a data-show (projector). The way some DEs handle the image in the -sort of- "dual monitor" is different. LXDE gave me poor results (I had Lubuntu, there, a year ago). X...

Re: Localized SolydK - cannot login

OK, "if you can't beat it, change it". I create a bootable usb/pen-drive with SolydX, instead, and it worked. It was not connected, hence no extra downloads, but a previous re-installation of S_K not connected, either, gave me the same bad result. Now with XFCE, thinking about a netbook, I think I w...

Re: Localized SolydK - cannot login

Yes, I was connected while installing (it's a good way of not having problems with the wireless card ;-) ).
OK, I'll try to re-install it today off-line.
I'll keep you informed.
Thanks.

PS: what about installing or not Plymouth??

Re: Localized SolydK - cannot login

I'll try to login with a pen-drive and see those files. The localization was done during the last part of the installation process automatically. PS: I have just tried to enter by the "recovery" star of the system, I tried to "kdm" and log-in, and got the following message: Warning: Cannot open Cons...

Localized SolydK - cannot login

Hi, all. I have just installed SolydK on a Gateway netbook (Atom N450 2 GB RAM); it worked fine on the live session. :?: But... , after installing and "localizing" everything, the netbook did not restart properly. I mean, it gets up to the log-in screen and after typing the password, goes into a loo...

Netbooks

Hi, all. What about your experiences installing SolydXK in netbooks? I did a test-drive with a boot-usb today, with "K". Looked quite good (not so slow) in my N450 2 GB RAM Gateway. The track pad didn't respond to tapping (it happened with another Debian based distro, SolusOS, but it worked with Xub...

SolydXK versions?

Hi guys! Congratulations and thank you for taking the flame of a semi-rolling, high quality, usable by everybody Debian derivative with something else than "cinnamon" ;-) One question: I saw in the forum some things that made me confuse; do you have more than one official "stable" version? What are ...
