Re: XK Abstract Wallpapers

I do enjoy watching a talented artist's work.
Personally I enjoy the more subdued versions like the original abstract wall papers, vive le difference!

Re: Conflict with solydx-system-adjustments

Thank-you grizzler. That was a great job. Using your package I installed Haroopad in a vm running SolydX. It is working perfectly now, but I think I'll play with it here for a week or so before commiitting it to hardware. @ilu thanks for the link. I have a lot of reading up to do on dpkg but that lo...

Conflict with solydx-system-adjustments-Solved

I am trying to install Haroopad markdown editor. Using gdebi and the .deb file provided by the project it installs in both Debian and Ubuntu but when I try in SolydX I get this error message. dpkg: error processing archive /home/jim/Downloads/haroopad-v0.13.1-x64.deb (--install): trying to overwrite...

Re: USB Creator with udisks2

I also tested the new usb-creator successfully. I was able to boot both Solydx & SolydK from the usb stick. I also was able to install SolydX onto a uefi box.
Nicely done.

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

For me changing the style in Settings > Appearance fixed that problem in the Synaptic Menu's. Any style other than bluebird or greybird-solydxk (the default) works for me.

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

This mornings update has a bug filed against Network-Manager. The initial responses indicate it may only affect some users. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=839884

From the Ubunbtu forums https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php ... 9683883c12
add this to your sources list:

Code: Select all

# Google software repository
deb http://dl.google.com/linux/deb/ stable non-free main
I have used this at times and it works.

Oops. Thanks for catching that Schoelje. I did it correctly in the program but was hasty in composing the post.
I edited the post.

Re: New ISOs in ce/testing

I found a small problem with the EE iso's. The timezone settings in both the Solydx and solydk were incorrect. In the solydx vm the date command returns the time in CEST, 6 hours ahead of New York. Looking at /etc/localtime appears to be a binary with readable references to CEST. Looking at /usr/sha...

Re: New ISOs in ce/testing

Installed solydkee_9_64_201607 in a vm. Other than the known problems with the installer it installed without problems. In the solydxk welcome screen are the business applications still pertinent? They did not install for me even the text box said that they did. All the others worked, except the gam...

Re: Move open program to different desktop

Moving a program to a different desktop is working fine in my SolydK's, both the main version and the EE version. I might be something peculiar to your system. Mine is almost totally vanilla.

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

Glad I wasn't the only only one. I have been playing around with this for a little and found a couple of things. 1) It is not a big problem for single user machines. It only has effect, on me, if I log out and switch user. When I do that then neither user can log in. However a quick restart allows t...

Re: ISO testing 201606

That is odd. I did hit the apply button, (just checked it again  ) and it works the same in SolydX where the change is immediate.
