Re: So long, CrunchBang. Welcome Bunsen Labs

Hmmm... the first one is charming. I see your point. And I think it's a good idea to make an iso with everything setup and configured. A legion of Debian users don't use just Debian, because of that barebones nature that a plain Debian install has. Most of us use pre-configured Debian spin...

Re: So long, CrunchBang. Welcome Bunsen Labs

It's not from scratch. It's just Debian. A pure Debian installer and later tweaking the system in certain way. And not too much, actually. That's why corenominal considers that makes no sense to mantain a distro like this any longer. It's essentially Debian with a given set of apps that anyone can c...

Re: Local apt repository

The tutorial is linked in the thread https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Personal I just used it once yesterday and I found it interesting. I was installing Debian netisntall and customizing it by adding stuff from different sources and also from my local discs. I find it useful to centra...

Re: So long, CrunchBang. Welcome Bunsen Labs

Just put together my first Bunsen Labs thing yesterday. It turned out nicely. It's a nice thing to try for those who like tinkering. There are some different approaches going in the community trying to dissect what makes Debian to become Crunchbang and figuring out the different ways to achieve it b...

Re: Greybird-Solydx/Desktop Icon Label Text Color

Now I know why the developers seem to be screaming and tearing out their hair every time GTK gets updated, all too quickly Not for GTK2, but GTK3 usually breaks themes every update. A real mess. Now we are moving to stable GTK should be updated way less. Less breakages. AND to top it all off, my tr...

Re: Plymouth should be disabled by default

Booting into an blank screen is a lot scarier than seeing some text scroll past during the boot.

Re: Plymouth should be disabled by default

I'd love to have the option during installation, whether it works perfectly well or has plenty of issues. I just don't want it around. It just a cosmetic thing that serves for nothing else than masking the booting process.

/usr/share/themes/greybird-solydx/gtk-3.0/gtk.css Change the colors to something like this: /* default color scheme */ @define-color bg_color #E0E0E0; @define-color fg_color #3C3C3C; @define-color base_color #FFFFFF; @define-color text_color #212121; @define-color selected_bg_color #ABABAB; @define-...

Re: Greybird-Solydx/Desktop Icon Label Text Color

That will change GKT2 only. If you want to extend it to GTK3 you need to do the same for the gtk.css into the gtk-3.0 folder.

Re: Sleep assist?

The only thing that worked for me was changing habits. No drugs did it. Just forcing myself to rest and avoiding certain things and activities to some extent. I don't sleep for long. I was never one of those guys needing a lot of sleep even when i was a child, but now I rest even if I sleep 5 hours....

Re: Greybird-Solydx/Desktop Icon Label Text Color

I like the background black, I like the way it provides contrast for the rest of the stuff on the desktop, but I also don't like to go too dark on the theme itself.. On my phone I use a black wallpaper with white lettering in the ebook reading software. This enables me to see the text very well wit...
