Verifying using GPG not possible.

Postby Jag59 » 01 Oct 2019 03:49

Unable to verify the downloaded solydk_10_64_201909.iso by using GPG. :?
The output is -
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$ gpg --list-keys
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$ gpg --keyserver hkps://keys.openpgp.org --recv-keys BCA63C3C
gpg: keyserver receive failed: No data
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$ gpg --fingerprint BCA63C3C
gpg: error reading key: No public key
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$
Any how, SHA256 verification is OK.

Thanks for the feedback.

I've updated the GPG page: https://solydxk.com/downloads/verify-yo ... d-with-gpg

Thanks for the reply. Followed the updated page but I could not go beyond
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$ gpg --list-keys
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$ gpg --keyserver hkps://keys.openpgp.org --recv-keys EADB2FB0BCA63C3C
gpg: key EADB2FB0BCA63C3C: new key but contains no user ID - skipped
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: w/o user IDs: 1
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$ gpg --fingerprint EADB2FB0BCA63C3C
gpg: error reading key: No public key
jagdeesh-deshpande@jld-lap-solydk:~$

See the line below the gpg --keyserver command:
If this gives you an error, you can try another key server: hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com
Then you would get this command:

Code: Select all

gpg --keyserver hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys EADB2FB0BCA63C3C
A patch for the "new key but contains no user ID" error is available for gpg but it is not in Debian's version, yet.

I was just copying and pasting, so missed
