Possible to add Office edition to SolydK and...

Postby joemartin » 30 Dec 2013 01:18

choose at login which to use?

I assume this is a "no" since Office is based on Stable and SolydK is based on Testing. I can partition the drive and install it that way but looking for easiest route...

Thanks...

And you'd be 100% correct! :D They really are different systems under the hood. I'd repart the drive and do any additional installs to separate partitions.

Oh, and welcome to SolydXK! :)

Originally the SolydK BO was based on testing as well. So, it still should be possible to install BO on SolydK testing.
However, future developement will be based on the current stable SolydK BO, and we cannot support the BO support software for the home editions based on testing.

If you still prefer SolydK testing with BO, I suggest you install SolydK in a VM, and install:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install solydkbo-meta
You can check all available BO packages with:

Code: Select all

apt search solydkbo
If it is what you need, you can then follow the same procedure for your system.

SolydXK needs you!
