Problem building:

Code: Select all

dcihon@solydk32-package-build ~/DEB Projects/grub-customizer-3.0.4 $ dpkg-buildpackage
dpkg-buildpackage: source package grub-customizer
dpkg-buildpackage: source version 3.0.4-1
dpkg-buildpackage: source changed by Dan Cihon <dcihon@solydxk>
dpkg-buildpackage: host architecture i386
 dpkg-source --before-build grub-customizer-3.0.4
 fakeroot debian/rules clean
dh clean
   dh_testdir
   dh_auto_clean
   dh_clean
 dpkg-source -b grub-customizer-3.0.4
dpkg-source: info: using source format `3.0 (quilt)'
dpkg-source: info: building grub-customizer using existing ./grub-customizer_3.0.4.orig.tar.xz
dpkg-source: info: local changes detected, the modified files are:
 grub-customizer-3.0.4/src/config.h
dpkg-source: info: you can integrate the local changes with dpkg-source --commit
dpkg-source: error: aborting due to unexpected upstream changes, see /tmp/grub-customizer_3.0.4-1.diff.PcN_aV
dpkg-buildpackage: error: dpkg-source -b grub-customizer-3.0.4 gave error exit status 2
dcihon@solydk32-package-build ~/DEB Projects/grub-customizer-3.0.4 $

Dan
thanks for considering packaging grub-customizer 8-)

1- it would be nice (to say the less) that the OP was formatted according to the Guidelines http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1079

2- it would be interesting that you described the steps (more detail the better) that lead to this error;
i can replicate it

Code: Select all

zerozero@vb ~/builds/grub-customizer/grub-customizer-3.0.4 $ dpkg-buildpackage
dpkg-buildpackage: source package grub-customizer
dpkg-buildpackage: source version 3.0.4-1
dpkg-buildpackage: source changed by zerozero <zerozero@solydxk>
dpkg-buildpackage: host architecture i386
 dpkg-source --before-build grub-customizer-3.0.4
 fakeroot debian/rules clean
dh clean
   dh_testdir
   dh_auto_clean
   dh_clean
 dpkg-source -b grub-customizer-3.0.4
dpkg-source: info: using source format `3.0 (quilt)'
dpkg-source: info: building grub-customizer using existing ./grub-customizer_3.0.4.orig.tar.xz
dpkg-source: info: local changes detected, the modified files are:
 grub-customizer-3.0.4/src/config.h
dpkg-source: info: you can integrate the local changes with dpkg-source --commit
dpkg-source: error: aborting due to unexpected upstream changes, see /tmp/grub-customizer_3.0.4-1.diff.DsmnCM
dpkg-buildpackage: error: dpkg-source -b grub-customizer-3.0.4 gave error exit status 2
zerozero@vb ~/builds/grub-customizer/grub-customizer-3.0.4 $
but before that i built it successfully

Code: Select all

zerozero@vb ~/builds/grub-customizer $ ls -lA
total 5152
drwxr-xr-x 6 zerozero zerozero 4096 Aug 19 01:54 grub-customizer-3.0.4
-rw-r--r-- 1 zerozero zerozero 4588308 Aug 19 01:41 grub-customizer_3.0.4-1_all.deb
-rw-r--r-- 1 zerozero zerozero 9733 Aug 19 01:40 grub-customizer_3.0.4-1.debian.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 zerozero zerozero 889 Aug 19 01:40 grub-customizer_3.0.4-1.dsc
-rw-r--r-- 1 zerozero zerozero 1615 Aug 19 01:41 grub-customizer_3.0.4-1_i386.changes
-rw-r--r-- 1 zerozero zerozero 258544 Aug 19 01:35 grub-customizer_3.0.4.orig.tar.xz
-rw-r--r-- 1 zerozero zerozero 394375 Aug 19 01:13 grub-customizer_3.0.4.tar.gz
the changes that i made between the first (successful) and the second (fail) are the same that you made? :P

What I did was follow your procedure. I downloaded the tar file and extracted it to a working folder.
Ran though the steps to make the deb file.
The last command I ran was the dpkg-buildpackage
You see the error I got.
Here is the control file:

Code: Select all

Source: grub-customizer
Section: unknown
Priority: extra
Maintainer: Dan Cihon <dcihon@gmail.com>
Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 8.0.0), cmake
Standards-Version: 3.9.4
Homepage: <insert the upstream URL, if relevant>
#Vcs-Git: git://git.debian.org/collab-maint/grub-customizer.git
#Vcs-Browser: http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/grub-customizer.git;a=summary

Package: grub-customizer
Architecture: any
Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Depends}
Description: Move, remove or rename menu entries (they stay updated be update-grub). Edit the contents of menu entries or create new ones (internally it edits the 40_custom). Support for GRUB2 and BURG. Reinstallation of the bootloader to MBR. Settings like default operating system, Kernel parameters, Background image and text colors etc. Changing the installed operating system by running on a live cd.
I have to go to work and won't be able to get back to this until tonight.
Thanks

Code: Select all

export DEBEMAIL="your email address here"
export DEBFULLNAME="your name here"
as for the rest of the control file these links are relevant

Zero,
Sorry been busy helping a friend removing a nasty virus from a Windows computer.
I did set him up with dual boot so he can at least get his email using Solyd.
Hope to get back to this maybe tomorrow night.
Thanks
Dan

Zero,
I apologize but it looks like I am not going to get to this like I thought.
I thought I was going to have the time to do this right now but I can't.
If no one else gets to it by the time I can back to it I will try again.
Thanks
Dan
