Hello from Venezuela

Postby Richard » 12 Jun 2013 05:01

Really enjoying
SolydX: a simple, stable, secure & up-to-date Debian testing with LightDM & Xfce4.10.

I've been using Debian in some form or another for the last 10+ years.
Started with MuLinux-1998 (floppies), Redhat, SuSE72, to Mandrake7.1 from 2000-2003,
then Mepis3/IceWM, Kanotix, sidux/Kde3&Xfce4, testing, LinuxMint, Peppermint, LMDE
& SalineOS since Jan-2011.

Nowadays, I'm more interested in printing, scanning and my OS running.
If I installed any games, I'd never get anything done.
Originally from Louisiana oilfields & now 40 years in Venezuela.
Currently travel a bit teaching oil field tech courses in English & Spanish.

I do some technical translations and proofing.
I would like to begin proofing the English on the site, docs and some of the software,
if you agree that there is a need. Point me toward something.

And I'm really cutting down on distro-hopping.
Really. I'm gonna start right after I get SolydX settled in --on desktop, netbook, pendrive....
I have a Wheezy-based SalineOS-2 install on my desktop that is stable.
Always good to have a backup. I have a couple of partitions to,... oh, never mind.
Nice to be here.

Hi Richard, and welcome to our forum!
I'm happy to see somebody with so much Linux experience.
Can I persuade you to join the testing team?

I'm not English (as you might have guessed). So, please feel free to proofing the site.

SolydXK needs you!
