Hello from New Zealand

Postby Deleted User 2762 » 16 Jun 2013 04:13

Hi everyone!
I've been a keen user of LMDE for a while, and settled in with Cinnamon well. Tried Kubuntu, and was captured by KDE, so I thought I'd put KDE on LMDE, and be happy...but sadly not, as LMDE + KDE is a real beast to get going, especially if you want to remove Cinnamon.

Came across a review of SolydK on http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/solydk-review.html, and thought it looked pretty nice :) - So, I'm just about to install it.

Looks like a great project, and long may it continue!

Hi claws, and welcome to our forum!
We started this project as "the unofficial LMDE KDE". You can still find the threads on the Mint forums, but it all started with a tutorial. I can tell you: that wasn't easy!
I hope you're going to like SolydXK.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I hope I enjoy it as well :D

Got the KDE version installed, its pretty nice, good to see Thunderbird instead of Kmail is included, and its always nice not to have to get the steam install manually. Only one little niggle so far, which is a really good effort!

Going to play around with SolydX as well, why not ;)
