I see that nobody has tested the EEs in testing and I have not heard of anybody who is missing these images.

I propose to lighten the burden on grizzler and skip these versions altogether.
You could have started by suggesting that privately by e-mail.
As an alternative I can upload my ISOs based on testing together with the nightlies to the nightlies download area. I need to build these ISOs for development of the SolydXK applications.
So maintaining/building Testing based ISOs is no longer an issue for you?

I'm in two minds about this. Having duplicate builds seems unproductive, so if you intend to release these ISOs regularly, then I agree dropping the EEs makes sense (though considering the time and effort I put into them, I'm not exactly in favour of it).

Will you also take reported issues into account and not automatically release them, whether or not they are known or can be expected to be broken? I scrapped one last month precisely because of that.

Uploading 64-bit EE ISOs anyway (should appear in ce/testing after 20:00 CET/19:00 UTC).

No real issues in VBox VM (SolydK even starts up without extreme delay), but the Firefox icon is missing from the SolydK menu favourites (not investigated yet).
Otherwise not tested.

It's never good to have only one person working on a project. Having a second person building and testing is important. Ideally, two persons are not enough, we are already a too small team. If problems come up having somebody knowledgable to discuss it with helps. "Rubber ducky debugging" is really subpar. As long as grizzler is willing to invest the time he should be doing it.

On another note, I just tried to find out which is the best remaining 32bit version to recommend. There are several in the repo - even the same in different directories, which doesn't make sense. It would be good to have one last working SolydXK9 and SolydXK10 version put somewhere more prominently (maybe a new top level section "archives"?). 9 and 10 both please since I remember buster dropping hardware support for some really old components. Since this is about older machines I don't see the urgent need for a SolydK10 version if there were still problems (I don't remember).

The build structures for 32-bit buster have been kept up to date, so building ISOs shouldn't be a problem. For stretch it may be a different story. I'm running an update sequence now and I've seen at least two things I need to investigate further. I'll let you know how things worked out later.

Don't invest time into stretch. I just wanted to know which ISO is the last working one. And suggest to put them into a separate directory.

OK, but I don't think it's a good idea to actually use the current last stretch ISO now. A final build should use updated packages.
Anyway, I don't have time to really work on ISOs until Wednesday or Thursday. I'll see what's possible then.

If somebody really needs a stretch ISO it will be fine to use an old one and run updates. Don't bother, I just wanted some cleanup while you (maybe) still remember which was which. The best of each version archived in one directory called "Archive".

The last 32-bit SolydXK 9 ISOs were built on 6 July 2019, according to the 'built' directory in my main machine's build structure. The last SolydXK 10s are from 28 September. It looks like they're the ones in https://downloads.solydxk.com/ce/testing/

I'm going to build at least a final set of 10s, but that will be tomorrow at the earliest (have to be elsewhere now...).

As an aside, I think I've found the reason the firefox icon is missing from the SolydK fav menu: the file /usr/share/plasma/layout-templates/org.kde.plasma.desktop.solydkPanel/contents/layout.js doesn't get updated (missing from the list in solydxk-system's adjust.py?).

Uploading the final 32-bit SolydXK 10 ISOs now. May make it to ce/testing just before the next top of the hour.

@Arjen,
Could you add /usr/share/plasma/layout-templates/org.kde.plasma.desktop.solydkPanel/contents/layout.js to the Firefox configs list in solydxk-system's adjust.py please?
Also, I wonder if providing the file /usr/share/solydxk/default-settings/plasma5-profile/kickoffrc which is also mentioned in that list is still useful (it's in all the solydk-system-adjustments packages). That file mentions a solydxk-softwaremanager_kde.desktop file which doesn'ŧ exist anymore and if I'm not mistaken the current menu application isn'ŧ called kickoff anyway.

Out of curiosity, I just checked whether using the old ISOs or creating new ones was feasible. It looks like it isn'ŧ. Some important packages for SolydXK 9 haven't been upgraded since buster became stable (i.e. solydxk-system, the system-adjustments packages, live-installer etc.). So while you can still keep the Debian side up to date (actually, the point release 9.12 happens to be today), the SolydXK side has been abandoned.

So as far as I can tell, even using the last built ISOs is inadvisable.

Just started uploading the 64-bit EE ISOs. They should appear here shortly after 20:00 CEST (18:00 UTC).

They require thorough testing. I'm having difficulty running any recent ISO in my VBox setup (even creating a new VM doesn't work), so I used the boot-isos method (after fixing boot-isos.sh) and only briefly looked at the SolydX ISO (seemed OK).

I'm curious whether others can get these to work in a VM. Here, the VM crashes (i.e. just disappears) without error message or anything useful in the log (see below for the last couple of lines), the moment the window is resized during booting. I suspect it has something to do with the guest additions.

@Arjen,
A fixed version of boot-isos.sh is attached. This one checks the actual names of the vmlinuz and initrd.img files.

Shall I remove the other ISOs when the upload is finished?

I have updated solydxk-system with the new boot-isos.sh file.

Just a quick boot of the ISOs.

VirtualBox 6.1.10_Debian r138449
Both EE ISOs boot fine. On first glance there's nothing seriously wrong.

SolydK EE boot error: "Failed to start Set console font and keymap"
Starting the service manually fixes this: sudo systemctl restart console-setup.service
SolydX EE doesn't have this problem and neither does my version of SolydK 11.

Yeah, that sounds logical...

I have attached the test documents. Some minor issues.

I also saw the "Failed to start Set console font and keymap" error on SolydX EE installed in VB. Maybe reinstalling console-setup-linux will solve this?

It's just that I used the default setting they provided and never looked back. Then they (apparently) changed the default, without a clear warning. Just a barely visible (for my less than perfect eyesight) little line at the bottom of the main config window, which only showed up when you actually clicked on a setting. I didn't see it until I systematically checked them all...

Somehow I don't think so. It doesn't look like any of the possible solutions mentioned in that bug report thread have been implemented, not even in the version currently waiting to be migrated to testing. I honestly don't understand what makes them leave things like this...

I've handled what you mentioned in the test documents. Would it make sense to wait for console-setup 1.196 (or grab it out of unstable)? I doubt it.
